Book Review – Sisters One, Two, Three by Nancy Star

Sisters One, Two, Three is a Contemporary Fiction story about (obviously) three sisters and their family. It’s not often that I don’t finish a book but, this is one of them. Because of that, I added a half star to what would have been a two-and-a-half-star rating, assuming if I had finished it, it would have gotten better. I will also not describe the story but only explain why I put it down, unfinished.

I believe I got about four chapters into Sisters One, Two, Three and realized I was going back at least three or four times in each chapter to reread the last several pages. For some reason, I just could not keep what I had just read straight or get into the story or the characters.

By chapter three, I realized my problem was the number of characters and the story line constantly changing from one character to another. Both made it extremely hard for me to keep track of which character was talking or whose life was being described. Even when I finally did kind of get them straight, I found them boring and very difficult to relate to.

Perhaps if I had hung in there it would have gotten better but, for me, it just became too much of an effort and was not worth the time.

So, a flat story line, flat characters, and a difficult read.
