About Us

About Ashley: I LOVE TO READ!  I have to start by saying that, even before I introduce myself.  As Thomas Jefferson said, “I cannot live without books.”  Now that I have that out of the way…my name is Ashley Fae, or A. Fae as I’m known in the world of book reviews. I am the founder of Truth About Books.

As an avid reader, my reviews could always be found on Amazon, Goodreads, and Facebook.  However, the time came that I received so much feedback  to start a blog I decided maybe it was time (Although I still post on all of those sites for the books I review on my blog).  So, Truth About Books was born.

In the past I have done freelance editing and proofreading. I’ve also dealt a ton with academic papers-the writing of and editing. I decided though that I’d rather read just for fun.  In my search for new books, I happened upon independently published books.  I found indie books to be so deserving of praise and/or helpful critiques that I began posting reviews as I read – and reading is ALL I do now.

I read a little of everything, but I can readily admit that I love paranormal romance, contemporary fiction, dystopian, YA, and thrillers.  But when it comes to reviews I try to review everything I can, and have started to love it all.  I typically review 1 to 2 books a week, depending on what life deals me.

I try to stick to reviewing indie author books only because there are so many extremely gifted authors and great books that don’t receive the attention they deserve.  That does not mean, however, that I won’t review other types of authors and books, but I try to review as many indie books as possible.  So if you are an indie author, please see my Review Policy page for information on having your book reviewed here at TAB

All of this wouldn’t be possible without the help of my partner in crime, Bob Boze, as well as other part-time and guest reviewers.  I am thankful to have their help keeping this site going and sharing our love of indie books with all of you.

About Allie: Allie wrote a book once. But no one has ever read it and it’s never seen the light of day. Nor will it ever. Probably. She likes to write and does it fairly often, but her real passion is web and graphic design.

She’s been married for 12 years and all she has to show for it are two ornery cats and three rambunctious dogs. In her real life, she works for a health insurance company (boooooring) and tries not to screw anything up too badly.

She’s been working with photoshop and graphics since she was sixteen and designing websites and building them from scratch since she was eighteen. She doesn’t know everything, but she knows a lot and she can figure it out if she puts her mind to it.
