Book Review – Something to Witch About by Amanda M. Lee

Something to Witch About is a witches and wizard’s suspense, mystery. It is also the fifth book in Amanda Lee’s Wicked Witches of the Midwest Mystery series.

Because I love this series, I’ll be reading and reviewing all of the books in it and using the same format for each of the books. So, if my reviews look and sound familiar, it’s because they are.

While you certainly do not need to read the first four books in order to enjoy or follow Something to Witch About, reading them will certainly help put you in the right mood to enjoy more antics from the wonderful witch trio of Bay, Clove and Thistle Winchester and, their crazy Great Aunt Tillie.

In this episode, the last thing Bay needs in her life is a visit from her FBI boyfriend, Landon’s, family. Or, a dead body, with an accompanying poltergeist, being dug up while excavating the site for Aunt Tillie’s greenhouse. But, she’s about to get both.

Turns out, Landon’s family is as squirrely as Bay’s family of witches: They even have their own version of Aunt Tillie in the form of his Aunt Blanch. Ah yes! Two crazy Aunts in the same B&B for several weeks!

Add to that a mother (Landon’s), who doesn’t trust the Winchester clan and Bay’s two cousins (Thistle and Clove) who are sure that Aunt Tillie not only knows the body but, she probably killed him.

Clove is also suddenly, among the missing every night and what’s up with that?

Ah yes! Another wonderful set of mysteries in Hemlock Cove! Did Aunt Tillie kill the person buried under her ‘to be’ greenhouse? Will Bay be able to win Landon’s family over? Will he even want anything to do with her after this family’s visit?

This time, Landon’s family makes sure things are ‘beyond the standard crazy’ during their stay. And, for a change, it’s Bay who is questioning her sanity and is just along for the ride.

So, more craziness, snarky comments, lots of chuckles …. and several new mysteries, thrown in for good measure, …. keeps this book (and the series) on the must read list.

OMG! What will they get into next? I can’t wait for book 6!
