Witch for Hire is the first book in N.E. Conneely’s, A Witch’s Path; a humorous, urban fantasy series.

If this first book is any indication of the series, you’ll want to order book 2 before you finish Witch for Hire: Which, I found to be an enjoyable, well-written fun read that will have you laughing a lot and instantly loving Michelle, the witch and central character.

Michelle, a clanless and Warlockless-witch, is unlike most witches. She works for the police department and it’s her job to help them solve crimes involving spells that have gone wrong. Or, were deliberately set to harm others.

As she wades her way through run amuck spells, items attacking their owners, escaped trolls gone wrong and other Fae related police matters, she suddenly finds she has an unwanted love interest. A wizard, dead set on dating her. Oh, and let us not forget the elf that may well drive her crazy first.

Witch for Hire will have you shaking your head and chuckling on every page. It is exceptionally well-written with fun characters that you can easily picture as they complicate Michelle’s life and job. The plot will take you all over the place as the author skillfully works in just about every Fae creature you can think of and keeps you guessing about what comes next.

Truly a fun read that will hold your attention and keep you laughing from cover to cover.
