How did you come to name your love story series and the first book?  The Horses of Tir Na Nog Ranch is real, as are the horses and their stories. The ranch is owned by a friend and while visiting the ranch, the idea of a book telling their story popped into mind. From there it took two years of possible story lines, notes and plot twists before I hit on the characters and story that’s in the trilogy.

Where did the cover picture come from and who did the cover? I did the covers for all my books and I consider them to be my proudest accomplishments. I have no artistic talent whatsoever. After begging then, giving up on getting friends to help, I found the picture of the girl caressing the horses face on ShutterStock. I knew immediately it was my cover. Two months, and a lot of cursing later, I learned enough about Publisher to put together my first cover. Then, with help from an author friend, I softened it and chose more appealing fonts. The cover you see is the third version and I am madly in love with how it came out. Finding the perfect picture to reflect each book is the hard part and I think I’ve done quite well with all of them. Especially for someone that can’t even draw a recognizable stick figure!

Is the Horses of Tir Na Nog Ranch a real ranch? The ranch is real and the horses and their stories are real. The ranch is owned by a friend and is out in the east county of San Diego.

Are your characters real or based on people you know? Definitely not.

How do you pick the names for your characters and where do you get them from? The names come from people I know, meet, a name I like, heard somewhere or looked up on the internet. I try to match the name to the character; typically describing the character to match the name since the names usually come first.

Who was the hardest character to develop and do you think you did a good job? Ami …. and no. Why? Because she’s evil, or as evil as it gets for me. By the way, doing a poor job developing her character in book 1 left the door wide open for bringing her back in the next two books.

What’s the hardest thing about writing a book? Doing the marketing. For me, it’s been a new world and very time consuming. I had to learn Facebook, Twitter and a whole bunch more! I have to admit; it’s been fun but I question how many of them pay off in sales.
